OOC

Stands for "Out Of Character".

When you are OOC, that means that you are currently not taking the part of your character, but that your actions represent the real world you that is sitting at the other end of this monitor.

IC and OOC actions should never be mixed. OOC actions should be kept to OOC areas only and the same goes with IC actions and areas. To reach an OOC area, see 'help meditation'.

OOC Commands

The OOC command stands for 'Out Of Character'. It should not be used while remaining IC "In Character". OOC speech should be limited to OOC areas but is still available while meditating.

There are also certain verbs that display OOC messages.

These verbs are:

tyop/ooctypo - (OOC) You are suffering from tyops...tyypos...bad spelling.

brb - (OOC) You will be right back.

bbs - (OOC) You will be back soon.

bbiab - (OOC) You will be back in a bit. afk - (OOC) You go away from your keyboard for a while.

bbl - (OOC) You will be back later.

bak - (OOC) You are back at your keyboard.

lag - (OOC) You are lagging.

oocnod/ok - (OOC) You nod.

badconnect - (OOC) You are suffering from a bad Internet connection.

wb - (OOC) You welcome back the prodigal.

It is preferred that these commands are used only when necessary. If you need to leave the game, go away from your keyboard, are lagging, etc., be creative and try to roleplay a reason for doing so.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ooc command is *NOT* to be used for any discussion of game-world events. This command is meant to help players separate fantasy from reality, not to help players 'get around' the language barrier. Any players caught using the ooc command to avoid language restrictions will be considered in violation of this rule.

Since this mud is dedicated to role-playing, we take breachers of this rule as a serious problem. Repeated offenders will be deleted. Lack of knowledge of this rule is not an excuse.
