Interacting with your body:
Your character in this land acts as your surrogate body. You, on
the other side of your monitor act as the brain of your body. You,
as the brain, must tell your body what to do. You do this by typing
simple 'commands'. Most commands can be worded exactly as they are
in the English language.
Remember, you're telling your body what to DO. So
each command begins with a verb such as "say", "get",
"walk", or "look".
Naming:
When you first meet a person, you don't know what their name is.
If they happen to tell you though, you can give them a name. Once
you give that person a name, then you'll see him described that
way from then on.
Try:
-> name third man as Elija
-> name golden eyed man as Lathander
If you find that you have named someone the wrong
name, you can "uname" them.
Movement:
If you want to wander south, just type "south" or "s"
for short. This works for all compass directions, as well as "up"
and "down". You may run across a door and you will want
to "enter door". If there is more than one door in the
room, you may need to be specific: "enter green door".
Examining your environment:
If you want to see the room you're in, and its contents, "look",
or if you want to look AT or IN something, use "look at/in".
Communication:
-> say Hello
-> shout Hello Mudders!
-> newbie Can somebody tell me how to do something?
Common Actions:
Want something? Then "take" it.
Don't want in anymore? Then "drop" it.
Other actions are often defined for particular situations
or objects, like "tie rope," "pull lever," "kill
monster."
For more in-depth help on how to refer to and manipulate
objects, type "help actions".
Emotions (emotes):
Are you happy and damn proud of it? Then "smile" or "smile
mary" if you are happy with her. (type "feelings"
to see what you can do).
Help:
Use the help command first to see if there's some information on
what you want to know. Its a good idea to read all of every single
help file before you begin to play. There's a lot of tips and pointers
in them there files.
Overall, if you're confused, ask around, someone's
bound to help. People are generally friendly and social, and everyone
was once totally new to this mud too.
Role Playing:
Separating things said while your in character(IC) and while your
out of character(OOC) is important to maintaining the environment
here. Please refer to "help role playing" for a detailed
explanation of what make good versus bad role play.
Rules:
As a player here, you are responsible for knowing the rules. Type
"help rules" to see what they are.
