In the flavor of Roleplay.  I asked one of our players to write this up and she did a wonderful job.  Many thanks Absent.
 
Everyone has access to their profile, only creators and you can see your rp profile, but is a helpful way to keep your characters ideas and goals in mind.  Without further ado, here is an example rp profile.  Yours may be different, but this gives you an indication of what is possible.
 
- RPPROFILE -
 
Male braman about 25 years old, according to Absent.
 
Knowledge:
 
Violence only creates more violence. Carrying a weapon invites its use, so a braman must remain unarmed at all times if she or he is to resist the temptation to meet force with force. The world contains many sorrows, and it is the responsibility of those who value peace and the dignity of all life not to add to them. This is not a perfect solution, and he understands that there are some bramen who cannot live by this code, but he hopes to serve as an example to those around him that one can be completely non-violent yet still survive and thrive in these difficult times.
 
 
 
Goals:
 
He is intensely interested in other cultures and other languages. He wants to travel the world, sharing the stories of his people and hearing the stories of other peoples in return. His needs are very simple so he does not desire to make huge amounts of money, but he does sell the herbs and fruits he finds in his journeys to local shops.  When he gets older, he hopes to have enough saved to buy a little cottage in the Isles, so he can retire there when traveling becomes too strenuous. He hopes to find a female braman to share his life with.
 
 
 
Personality:
 
Soft spoken and unpretentious, he grows animated when speaking of his travels. He is angered by injustice and poverty, and he often gives food and money to beggars.  He is very trusting and honest, almost to a fault, but his friends who are more worldly look out for him and keep him from getting in to too much trouble. He has a habit of humming tunelessly to himself while traveling.
 
 
 
Likes:
 
He dislikes the hustle and bustle of market days, feeling overwhelmed and confused by all the sensory information. He prefers quiet pastimes, such as studying and enjoying the company of several friends for a meal outdoors or a friendly game of cards. He loves oranges, and will often pay a great deal for them when they are scarce. He dislikes all mushrooms, but has been forced to subsist on hawkshelf on the few occasions he was lost in the woods. He finds mysrrae fascinating, especially female mysrrae, and though he is repelled by their meat eating, he will seek out their company. He cannot understand why some bramen find humans unpleasant, as he's had positive experiences with them on the whole.

None the less, I think this is a great example myself.
 
I've loved the idea of the rpprofile and encourage anyone to use it.  I've just always been kind of iffy as to HOW to use it, myself.  What do I write here, what goes there?  What's a decent way or writing this?

It's a topic that's seen a lot of debate, so I figured a bit of clarifying couldn't hurt.
 
The profile itself was pretty good.

I'd like to encourage everyone to have an RP Profile.  
 
Character development is a huge aspect of roleplaying well, and if putting your thoughts on paper helps you to give reason behind your character's actions, then I strongly encourage its use.
 
It's easy to start a new character and just say "Ok, I'm going to RP a mad killer", but there has to be a background to every character.

My character changed overtime due to thing's that happend within the game and now his personality is different, I still want the begining to be logged in the game; what I orginally set the RP profile as. But there should be a way to add new additions to your profile as your character ages and builds and his traits and persona change. Who is with me?!

Oh yes, that's one of the most entertaining way to use your RPprofile.
 
"Bla bla he hates mysrrea because a cat ate his tongue. - But recently, (or when he became X years old) he came across this experience that taught him mysrrae are not exactly cats." I prefer having them as a ongoing narrative, sometimes you may have to trim the whole thing down a bit, and exclude details, but you can also keep a seperate .txt file for your own use anyway.

retrospectively, I should've posted this AGES ago, but here it is. better late then never. Creators have had this for awhile, but I figure I might as well toss it on now.
 
Dvai'yin son of Maran (son of Yeomal and Sharan) and Kille (daughter of Siln and  
Krass), clan Burnedfoot
 
Past and present:
 
Dvai'yin served in Clan Brokentooth untill he was seventy-three, the latter  
fifteen years spent training the younger generation. For the past twenty  
years, he has been mostly reclusive, spending most of his time  
whittling and fishing, doing little else besides occasionally telling  
stories of his youth, or helping one younger and more able mysrra to  
better their combat skills, or bowmanship. He is extremely skilled in  
melee combat, having nearly mastered everything to do with hand to hand,
clawed, and sword fighting. Dvai'yin retired, finally tiring of fighting,  
believing he upheld his duty, and that it is best he leave the blood-
letting to a younger generation. His quiet pursuit of whittling has  
wielded its own fruit, allowing him to maintain a fairly comfortable  
lifestyle while keeping his eyes and hands working well. Fishing has  
allowed him to simply relax and not have to hunt anymore. In spite of his
age, Dvai'yin continues a fairly regular regimen to keep himself
strong and energetic.  
 
Dvai'yin does not expect, but continues to be prepared for, a call to arms from  
his former clansmen. He no longer carries weapons, other than his whittling  
knife, but practices with a carved sword every week or so, just to maintain  
his skills and sharpen his reflexes.
 
Personality:
 
Dvai'yin is quiet and unassuming, and generally seems like he might be a little
slow. His mind is still keen, despite his age, and tends to see through the
politics of the lesser races, right to the heart of the problem. Dvai'yin
generally prefers to simply sit and whittle or fish away his days, spending
a lot of his time either around Banzar to sell the fish, or occasionally
spending time around Forest Heart to whittle instruments for Rythm and
Harmony. Other than whittling, he tends to nap while fishing, frequently
being awoken only as the pole is nearly pulled from his loose grasp. He
also enjoys telling stories to younger generations, frequently indulging
in telling the same story to the same people without realizing he has
told it before.
